2015/2016 FIL World Cup – Double’s Luge – Race 1

From Igls, AUT

There are some things you can count on in life, one of which is the team of Eggert & Benecken taking gold in Igls.  For the third consecutive year they find themselves at the top of the podium in Austria.

The Germans set the fast time in both heats, and were the only team to fall into the 39.6’s.  The Austrian team of Penz & Fichler looked to win on home soil, and while they couldn’t do so, they did mange to move from third to second to take silver, ahead of Germans Wendl & Arlt.

The team of Walker & Snith were the top North American team in sixth, while Mortensen & Terdiman finished eighth.
