Results for the fifth IBSF North American Cup women’s skeleton race, held January 7, 2017.
Madelaine Smith and Donna Creighton went one-two for Great Britain to kick off the second half of the North American Cup season. Creighton was able to out-push Smith by .1, but Smith found more speed at the end of her run to snatch gold from Creighton.
Maya Pedersen finished third, scoring her first medal while on her comeback trail.
Gracie Clapp-Taylor finished fourth for the United States, ahead of the Korean pair of Rayoung Mun and Sophia Jeong, who finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Morgan Tracey and Megan Dovell helped put three of the four American sleds in the top ten with seventh and tenth place finishes, while teammate Leslie Stratton finished 13th.
Madison Charney was the top-scoring Canadian in eighth, just ahead of teammate Cassie Hawrysh, who finished ninth. Mellisa-Kate Gagnon finished 15th.
The race was cut to one heat due to ice condition concerns.
