2016/2017 IBSF North American Cup – Women’s Skeleton – Race 7

Results from the seventh IBSF North American Cup women’s skeleton race of the 2016/2017 season, held January 19, 2017.

Donna Creighton took gold in Lake Placid, her first in just over two years (Jan. 16, 2015 ICC in Whistler). The British slider came into the second run just behind Rayoung Mun of Korea, but pieced together a better second run to win over the Korean by .04.

Gracie Clapp-Taylor finished with a bronze medal, leading a strong day for the United States. Veronica Day finished just behind her in fourth, while Canadian Madison Charney finished fifth and British slider Madelaine Smith finished sixth.

Morgan Tracey finished tenth for the United States after a mid-event sock change, using Charney’s backup socks in the second run. Leslie Stratton finished 11th to round out the American effort.

Jaclyn LaBerge finished 13th after a tough second run, while Canadian teammate Melissa-Kate Gagnon finished 24th. Erika Riedl finished 23rd as the only Italian sled.
