From Whistler, CAN
(Nov. 5, 2017) Taylor Austin won his first IBSF 2-man bobsled race of the season, coming back from third to take gold.
Austin trailed Korea’s Youngjin Suk and the United States’ Geoffrey Gadbois going into the second run, but a great trip down the bottom half of the track, coupled with mistakes by Suk and Gabdois moved him to the top of the podium.
Save for an issue mid-run on his second trip down the Whistler track, Suk had a great race, finishing second. American Hunter Church finished third, moving up from the fifth position after the first heat.
Gadbois had issues late in his run and finished with the tenth fastest time in the second run, dropping him from silver to fifth, just behin Jian Jin of China.
Drazen Silic of Croatia finished sixth.
