(Nov. 15, 2017) Geoffrey Gadbois took his second consecutive gold medal in North American Cup action in Calgary in a very tight race.
Gadbois came into his second heat only .04 ahead of teammate Hunter Church and just .05 ahead of Monegasque slider Rudy Rinaldi. While both Church and Rinaldi slid well in their second run, Gadbois was just that much better, taking gold by .10 over Rinaldi. Church finished in the bronze medal position, .23 back.
Yougnjin Suk of Korea finished fourth, ahead of Yijun Shao of China and Pius Meyerhans of Switzerland.
Canadians Taylor Austin and Jeff McKeen finished ninth and 12th, respectively.
