Tararychenkova Wins First EC Gold Medal

(Dec. 16, 2017) Alina Tararychenkova won her first career IBSF European Cup gold medal in La Plagne, beating out a stout field in the process.

The Russian had the fastest two runs in the race, winning by .84 over Brogan Crowley of Great Britain. Crowley came into her second run in fourth, but had the second fastest run to move up to the silver medal position.

Alena Frolova of Russia finished third, just ahead of Kimberley Murray, who finished fourth. Maria Surovtseva and Agathe Bessard finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Ashleigh Pittaway of Great Britain finished seventh, while Race 5 winner Eleanor Furneaux finished 13th.

Kellie Delka of the United States finished 11th, just ahead of teammate Leslie Stratton, who finished 15th.
