From Winterberg, GER
(Jan. 14, 2018) German Richard Oelsner won his second four-man race in as many days, sweeping the four-man European Cup competition in Winterberg.
Oelsner carried a .24 advantage over European Cup four-man point leader Christof Hafer into the second heat. While Oelsner wasn’t able to out-pace either Hafer or fellow teammate Pablo Nolte, he had enough in the bank to win his second race in as many events.
Nolte leapfrogged Hafer for second by .04, while Hafer settled for third.
The third place finish for Hafer was enough to win the European Cup four-man title ahead of Bennet Buchmüller, who finished seventh in the final race of the year.
Dominik Dvorak finished fourth in the final race of the season, with Ivan Linyuchev and Radek Matousek rounding out the top six.
