Ro Wins 1st Race of 2020/2021

Feb. 5, 2021 – The United States’ Mystique Ro won her first race of the 2020/2021 season, edging teammate Savannah Graybill for the top spot.

Ro had both the two fastest starts and the two best downtimes of the race to beat out Graybill by .16 in each heat for a .32 second victory.

Ro’s gold medal was her third in North American Cup action, and sixth medal in as many races. Graybill’s silver was her tenth straight North American Cup top five finish.

Canada’s Madison Charney finished third with the third quickest downtime in each heat. Her bronze medal was her second straight and fourth straight medal. She hasn’t finished outside of the top five this season.

Sweden’s Leslie Stratton finished fourth for the second straight race, while Grace Dafoe finished a season-best fifth for Canada.

Nigeria’s Simidele Adeagbo rounded out the top six.
