Italy Wins World Championships Team Gold

Feb. 14, 2021 – Evelin Lanthaler and Alex Gruber dominated the team event in Umhausen, cruising to a two second victory over Austrians Tina Unterberger and Thomas Kammerlander.

Lanthaler gave Gruber a mammoth 2.06 second advantage to work with, and while Gruber just had to make it down safely he did manage to keep his downtime within .06 of Kammerlanders to give Italy the team gold.

Austria finished second, well ahead of the Russian Luge Federation in third.

Ukraine, Germany, and Slovakia rounded out the top six.
