(January 9, 2022) – Evelin Lanthaler and Alex Gruber held off Michelle Diepold and Thomas Kammerlander to win the first team competition of the 2021/2022 Natural Track World Cup season.
Lanthaler had the quick first run for the women, just ahead of Lisa Walch of Germany. Alex Gruber’s run was just second quickest, behind Kammerlander’s, but plenty quick enough to slide into gold.
Kammerlander made up a deficit put down by Michelle Diepold to slide into silver, while Russia’s Ekaterina Lavrenteva and Aleksandr Egorov each had the third quickest downtimes to finish with a bronze medal.
Germany, Ukraine, and Slovakia rounded out the six sled field.
