From Lake Placid, USA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken dominated the doubles race in Lake Placid,\u00a0winning by a total of over .3 ahead of the Austrian team of Penz & Fischler. The Austrians came into the second run fourth, but a second-quickest second run moved them up to the silver medal. \u00a0The Latvian team of Sics & Sics took bronze.<\/p>\n

Much like Loch in the men’s race, the German team of Wendl & Arlt\u00a0came into the second run in second, but also found big trouble on the bottom half of Lake Placid’s tricky track, and finished eighth.<\/p>\n

The United States finished sixth and seventh on home ice, with the team of Krewson & Sherk finishing just ahead of Mortensen & Terdiman. Canadians Walker & Snith finished 14th.<\/p>\n
