2014/2015 FIBT World Cup – Women’s Bobsled – Race 2

From Calgary, CAN

A new track, a same result for Elana Meyers Taylor and Cherrelle Garrett. The team of Meyers Taylor/Garrett was strong at the start and quick all the way down in both runs, winning Race 2 of the FIBT World Cup by almost a half second.  Anja Schneiderheinze took silver, moving up from a 4th place finish in Lake Placid.  Olympic gold medalist Kaillie Humphries couldn’t get gold on her home track, but she managed a bronze after a rough run by Jamie Greubel Poser moved her out of the medals.

Despite “only” one medal, it was still a solid day for the Americans.  Greubel Poser and Jazmine Fenlator tied for fourth, with Fenlator putting down a solid second run. Greubel Poser was late on most of her exits and that’s where she lost time.

Great Britain’s young team continued to make progress, with Victoria Olaoye and Mica McNeill finishing eighth and ninth, respectively.
