From Winterberg, GER

(November 26, 2022) – Germany’s Jacqueline Lölling won her first gold medal of the season, leading a German one-two in Winterberg.

The three-time World Cup champion was her tradiaionally quick and smooth self, overcoming a .3 deficit behind the top starters to finish .87 ahead of anyone else to win her first Intercontinental Cup gold medal since 2014. It was also the 25th gold medal of her career spanning the various tours and championships.

Lölling’s teammate Corinna Leipold finished second for her second straight medal of the season. Leipold entered the second run just .18 behind Lölling, but couldn’t put together a contending second effort.

Bronze was shared between USA’s Mystique Ro and Italy’s Alessia Crippa. For Ro the medal was her fourth medal in five races this season split between ICC and European Cup. For Crippa, the bronze was her first ever ICC medal.

Both women edged out Sarah Wimmer, who finished fifth, only .02 out of the medals. Belgium’s Aline Pelckmans finished sixth.

Amelia Oltman finished seventh for Great Britain, while Liechtenstein’s Katharina Aigenmann scored her first ever top ten in ICC action.

Michelle Toukan finished 12th on the second American sled.
