The track record fell multiple times in the first heat, finally solidifying with Nolte’s 1:00.47 as Nolte took the lead at the end of the first heat, with Humphries just .16 back in second place at the end of the heat.

On the second run Humphries threw down a big run, the quickest of the heat to take the lead with just Nolte to go. Nolte’s second trip down the 2025 World Championships track was not as quick as her first run, nor was it as quick as Humphries’ second run, but it was enough to hold off the American for gold.

“I’m so really happy,” Nolte said of her win. “I’ve been waiting for this monobob gold for a while, and every time I’ve raced something didn’t work out, whether it was the start or the driving or the equipment. And today everything fit together.”

Nolte continued, “of course I never would have expected my first monobob win to be in Lake Placid. In Whistler I was leading, which was unbelievable, but I crashed. I’m so happy, if I’m good here perhaps I can produce more of those results in Europe!”

Humphries’ silver medal was her third straight monobob medal. She how has one each of gold (Park City), silver (Lake Placid), and bronze (Whistler).

Germany’s Lisa Buckwitz set the start record in the first heat on her way to a bronze medal for her second medal of the season.

Swiss pilot Melanie Hasler finished fourth, ahead of Germany’s Kim Kalicki in fifth and Canada’s Bianca Ribi in sixth.

The United States’ Nicole Vogt finished seventh, and Riley Compton eighth. Canada’s Cynthia Appiah was on a medal-contending run but crashed midway on her second run. She was able to get the sled back on the runners and finish her run in ninth.

As the tour hits the holiday break, Kaillie Humphries is the season point leader by 50 over Laura Nolte. Bianca Ribi sits third, with Melanie Hasler and Lisa Buckwitz rounding out the top five.
