Susko Wins Third Straight JWC Singles Race

(December 9, 2023) – Embyr-Lee Susko cruised to yet another victory, this time on her home ice in Whistler, to make it three straight victories in the FIL Junior World Cup.

Susko carried over a tenth of a second advantage over teammate Kailey Allan into the second heat. On her second run Susko was a tenth of a second slower than her first run, but still plenty of quicker than everyone else as she won by .388 over Allan.

Allan’s silver medal was a career best.

Germany’s Melina Fischer won bronze, .423 behind Susko.

Canada placed all six women in the top nine. Midori Holland finished fourth, Beattie Podulsky sixth, Caitlin Nash seventh, and Jollie Brodylo ninth.

The United States struggled north of the border. Sophia Gordon was the top American in 13th, while Delaney Duncan finished 15th. Macey Shomaker did not start in the second heat.
