From Igls, Austria
For the second time this year, the FIBT put on a team competition, pitting various nations against each other in men’s and women’s skeleton, women’s bobsled and two-man bobsled. This time out it was Germany I dominating the competition, leading every discipline but women’s skeleton, where Canada I’s Sarah Reid took over.
Canada I takes silver, with Kaillie Humphries again being edged by Sandra Kirasis in women’s bobsled and Lyndon Rush narrowly taking second ahead of USA I’s Steven Holcomb. Holcomb, in a BMW sled he’s now seen three total runs in, put together his best run yet in the new sled, but couldn’t go quick enough to overcome a sizable deficit.
The race saw scratches from Great Britain I, USA II, Austria I and International I.
