(February 9, 2025) – Evelin Lanthaler cruised through the bracket in the Umhausen on her way to her 57th World Cup victory in the women’s eliminator event on Saturday.

Lanthaler had a bye in the first round, and picked off Austria’s Naomi Thöni in the semifinals on her way to the final round race against Tina Unterberger, Daniela Mittermair and Lisa Walch.
In the final run, Lanthaler was the only slider in the 1:14s as she took victory, her 57th of her career, 34th straight, and 45th in her last 46 races.
Behind the Italian great, Daniela Mittermair gave Italy a one-two finish. Mittermaier raced past Canada’s Nadja Loder and teammate Nadine Staffler on her way to the finals, wher eshe edged out Germany’s Lisa Walch by just .11 for silver.
Walch, who barely beat out Riccarda Ruetz in the semifinals, scored her first podium of the season with a third-place finish.
Austria’s Unterberger, who’d won silver the day before, finished fourth.
With one race to go in the World Cup season, Lanthaler has clinched her eighth straight World Cup championship, and ninth in total. Unterberger is second, 40 points ahead of Mittermair in third. Ruetz and Staffler round out the top five.
