From Winterberg, GER
(February 22, 2025) – A day after winning in two-man bobsled, Maxmilian Illmann won his second straight race in Winterberg with a gold in the first of two four-man events.
Illmann’s team gave him a competitive start in the first heat, and he slid to a .03 start ahead of teammate Hans Peter Hannighofer. In the second heat, Illmann’s team matched their 5.16 start with another, and once again Illmann outslid everyone, eventually winning by .16 ahead of Hannighofer.
The win was Illmann’s third straight in four-man competion.
Hannighofer took silver, well ahead of Alexander Czudaj in third.
Laurin Zern was fourth as the fourth German on the track.
Czechia’s Matej Behounek was fifth, with Switzerland’s Nils Reich sixth, .03 behind Behounek.
