From Park City, USA
(December 13, 2025) – Italy had a strong showing across all disciplines in Park City, and finished the weekend off with a gold medal in the Team Relay.
The United States team of Summer Britcher, Zack DiGreogrio, Sean Hollander, Jonny Gustafson, Chevonne Forgan and Sophia Kirkby were the first team off and put down four generally clean runs but were quickly bumped out by the Italian team of Verena Hofer, Ivan Nagler, Fabian Malleier, Leon Felderer, Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer.
Those two teams sat one-two as Ukraine, Poland, and Latvia all failed to match their pace.
Austria, who was also strong throughout the race weekend in Park City, were outrun by the Italians, but Dorothea Schwarz, Juri Gatt, Riccardo Schöpf, Jonas Müller, Selina Egle and Lara Kipp were able to squeeze in just ahead of the Americans into second place.
The final team off were the Germans, who have won more relays than anyone else combined. Most of the way down the German squad were behind the Italians but were keeping it close, but a mistake late in Eitberger and Matschina’s run put the Germans well back and handed gold to the Italians, with Austria second and the United States third.
Latvia, Germany, and Ukraine were fourth to sixth, with Romania missing the paddle and being disqualified.
