From Jaufental, ITA
(February 21, 2026) – Hannes Unterholzner capped a career season with his second gold medal of the season, while Daniel Gruber held on for the overall title.
Underholzner was untouchable in Jaufental. With the quickest start in both heats, the Italian opened up a .18 lead over teammate Alex Oberhofer, with Matthias Lambacher in third.

The second heat saw Lambacher put down a clean and quick run of his own to take the lead from Austria’s Fabian Achenrainer. That lead would old as Oberhofer couldn’t quite match his first run pace and fell back by just two hundredths behind Lambacher.
That left Unterholzner atop Tonnerboden needing a good run of his own, and he had just that. With the quickest start of the race, Underholzner opened up a half second lead by the first split and held that lead the remainder of the slide down to take his second gold fo the season.
“These were two strong runs,” Unterholzner said after the race. “The conditions were difficult, but I adapted well.”
Lambacher, who will focus on singles sliding next season, took second place, with Oberhofer third and Achenrainer fourth.
In fifth place was Daniel Gruber, who took the season title by 50 points over Achenrainer.
“The relief is enormous,” Gruber told the media after the race. “On the way to the final, it really dawned on me for the first time that I could win the overall title. That wasn’t a good idea, as I put pressure on myself and almost messed it up. Now I just want to celebrate!”
Achenrainer finished the season in second, with Unterholzner third.
