From St. Moritz, SUI
(February 28, 2026) – Thomas Steu and Wolfgang Kindl came from behind to win their first race of the season in St. Moritz.
The duo was second after the first heat, trailing teammates Juri Gatt and Riccardo Schöpf by just under a tenth of a second. Behind the Austrians, Italy’s Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier sat in third, with Germany’s Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt fourth and new Olympic gold medalists Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwalner fifth.

The second heat saw Rieder and Kainzwaldner leapfrogged by Toni Eggert and Florian Müller, who were then picked off by Wendl and Arlt.
Nagler and Malleier were next, and slid to the lead by .110, but then were edged by Steu and Kindl by just four thousandths of a second.
The final team off the top was Gatt and Schöpf. The duo made a mistake that many had before out of Horseshoe, that issue set them back and they weren’t able rally back, as they finished just off of the podium in fourth, handing the victory to Steu and Kindl.
“After coming second at the Olympics, we’ve now been able to top that with this victory,” Steu told the media after the race.
Nagler and Malleier took silver, .004 back, with Wendl and Arlt third.
Gatt and Schöpf were fourth, Eggert and Müller fifth, and Rieder and Kainzwaldner sixth.
With their bronze medal, Wendl and Arlt clinched the season title with one race to go. Gatt and Schöpf are second, with teammates Steu and Kindl third, nine points back.
