(March 5, 2026) – The International Luge Federation (FIL) took the large step to announce its first ever four-year calendar, with all races and championships for the quad leading up to the Olympic Winter Games in the French Alps in 2030.
In a statement released on Thursday, FIL president Einars Fogelis said that in releasing the long-term calendar, “the FIL is sending a clear signal of stability, transparency, and reliability in international luge.”
The four-year calendar has a few quirks along the way, including in the coming 2026/2026 season where the tour will begin in Winterberg then head to Asia for races in Pyeongchang and Yanqing. Asia will again see races in the 2029/2030 Olympic season after two races in Igls and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Races in North America will happen during the 2027/2028 and 2028/2029 seasons, with the former kicking off the season with three stops in North America, and the latter finishing up with World Championships in Lake Placid and then a stop in Whistler to finish out the season.
Notably, the tour will also begin making stops again in La Plagne in the buildup to the Olympic Games, with two of the three non-Olympic seasons seeing a race on the 2030 Olympic track. The tour hasn’t made a stop in France in well over two decades.
Below is the current calendar, which while official is also still subject to change.
