The silver medalists led after the first run, but a fourth-fastest second run moved them back to silver. Austrians Penz & Fischler take bronze, their third bronze medal in four races this season.
The Latvian team of Sics & Sics take fourth place, just ahead of countrymen Gudramovics & Kalnins, who finished fifth.
Both North American teams put their sliders in the top 10, with Matthew Mortensen and Jason Terdiman taking eighth, just ahead of Tristan Walker and Justin Snith, who finished ninth.
