2015/2016 IBSF World Cup – Men’s Skeleton – Race 1

From Altenberg, GER

Alexander Tretiakov set the track record in the first run, missing the push record by .01 in that heat. He beat the push record in his second run, but a relatively sloppy second run handed the race to Latvian Martins Dukurs.  Dukurs was strong when he needed it most, pushing .05 faster in his second run and putting down as close to a perfect run as he could for gold. Nikita Tregybov made it a Russia two-three behind Dukurs.

Axel Jungk was the top finishing German in fourth, while Tomass Dukurs rounded out the top five in fifth. Pavel Kulikov took sixth.

Matt Antoine was the top finishing American, scoring at Top 10 in tenth after two clean runs that seemed to just lack a bit of speed in them. Teammate Nathan Crumpton finished 24th in his World Cup debut. Canadians Dave Greszczyszyn and Barrett Martineau finished 13th and 15th, respectively.

Dom Parsons was the top-finishing British slider in ninth, teammates Ed Smith and David Smith finished 17th and 21st.
