2015/2016 FIL World Cup – Doubles Luge – Race 4

From Calgary, CAN

The final race in the “North American Swing” in the FIL World Cup was golden for Germany, with the team of Eggert & Benecken once again taking gold.  The Austrian team of Penz & Fischler took silver, ahead of Park City winners German’s Wendl & Arlt.

All three podium teams stayed put from their first run to their second. Back in the field, though, it was a different story. The American team of Mortensen and Terdiman appeared to be on their way to their best finish of the season, but trouble in their second run dropped them from fourth to sixth. Italians Oberstolz & Gruber took adavantage, moving from fifth to fourth, while Canadians Walker & Snith used a very quick second run to move up from eighth to fifth.

American teams Krewson & Sherk and Hyrns & Espinoza finished 14th and 16th, respectively, while the Canadian team of Riddle & Shippit failed to finish.
