2015/2016 IBSF World Cup – Women’s Skeleton – Race 5

From Park City, USA

Tina Hermann doesn’t have a ton of experience on the American tracks, but she got the hang of Park City in a hurry. The German slider took gold with the fastest run in both heats, and the only slider to break 51 seconds in the second run.

Jane Channell scored a career best finish with silver, the Canadian was the third fastest in the second heat, but her first run was enough to keep her ahead of Austrian Janine Flock, who finished in the bronze medal position.

Annie O’Shea and Kendall Wesenberg scored big for the United States on home ice, finishing fourth and fifth respectively, while Canadian Elisabeth Vathje put all of the Canadian and American sleds in the top six with her sixth place finish.

Laura Deas finished tenth for Great Britain, just ahead of teammate Donna Creighton, who finished 14th.  Katie Tannenbaum finished a World Cup career-best 20th, while Jackie Narracott finished 21st for Australia.
