Austria made a solid showing in the men’s luge European Championships, taking gold and bronze, putting four men in the top six.
Thomas Kammerlander won his first gold of the 2015/2016 season on Italian soil, ahead of perennial favorite Patrick Pigneter. The Austrian was fastest in both heats, and was the only athlete to break 56 seconds, easily taking gold ahead of the Italian.
Pigneter finished second, over a second ahead of third place Christian Schopf, who took bronze.
David Clayton of Great Britain finished 35th.
