Due to heavy snowfall causing transportation issues, Friday, Dec. 9’s FIL World Cup events have been postponed to Saturday, Dec. 10.
The one day event will be held on what was to be the second day of sliding competition, with races scheduled originally for Friday to be held earlier in the day.
With heavy snow in western Canada, the sled transportation truck was stuck in Brandon, Manitoba, roughly 2,000 kilometers (1242 miles) from Whistler. With roads west of Brandon closed, it’s currently impossible to get race equipment to Whistler.
Here is the new race schedule:
Women’s race: 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT
Doubles race: 2:40 PM / 11:40 AM
Men’s race: 6:40 PM / 3:40 PM
Team Relay: 9:40 PM / 6:40 PM
