Results from the final men’s skeleton race of the 2016/2017 IBSF Intercontinental Cup season, held January 27, 2017.
Egor Veselov won the final race of the men’s Intercontinental Cup season, edging USA’s John Daly by .16.
Daly came into the second heat as the leader, but couldn’t match the speed he found in the first run, only putting down the fifth fastest run of the heat. That run gave Veselov the victory, with Daly holding onto second place, ahead of Russian Vladislav Marchenkov and Pavel Kulikov, who finished third and fourth.
Jeremy Rice finished fifth for Great Britain, tied with China’s Wenqiang Geng. The fifth place run was a career best for Geng.
Greg West and Michael Rogals finished eighth and 11th respectively for the United States, while Kenny Howard and Marcus Wyatt finished 10th and 11th for Great Britain.
