From Igls, AUT
Germany had its struggles throughout the 2017 FIL World Championships, but when it comes to the Team Relay competition there isn’t anyone better.
The United States came down 11th, moving into the lead with four teams to go. As Italy, Russia, and Austria came down, it became clear that Tucker West’s run was the deciding factor to keep the Americans in the lead.
The last team to beat was Germany, and it took a nearly flawless run by Toni Eggert & Sascha Benecken to take the Germans to the top of the podium ahead of the United States.
Russia finished with a bronze medal, ahead of Italy, Austria, and Canada.
