Pigneter & Clara Win Season Opener in Kühtai

From Kühtai, AUT

(Dec. 3, 2017) The Italian duo of Patrick Pigneter & Florian Clara dominated the natural track doubles ranks for the better part of two years, and then came the 2016/2017 season. The Italians struggled (for them, anyway), only winning twice on the season.

They came back strong in Kühtai, cruising to a 1.04 second victory over the world champion duo of Rupert Brüggler & Tobias Angerer.

The Austrians came from third to edge Russians Pavel Porshnev & Ivan Lazarev for silver, while the Russian duo finished with a bronze medal.

Russia took the next two spots as well, with Martyanov & Rodin finishing fourth, and Egorov & Popov finishing fifth. The Austrian team of Achenrainer & Brugger finished sixth.
