(Nov. 9, 2018) – Justin Kripps swept the 2-man part of the North American Cup opening weekend, and now has a 4-man gold to go with those wins.
Kripps remained the fastest man on ice early this season, once again setting the fast times in both heats on his way to a victory over Monaco’s Rudy Rinaldi. The 1-2 finish for Kripps and Rinaldi mirrors the finish yesterday in 2-man.
Olympic silver medalist Yunjong Won came into the second heat a tenth ahead of Rinaldi, but struggled to find speed late, dropping to third.
Great Britain’s Brad Hall finished fifth, ahead of Canada’s Chris Spring and Nick Poloniato.
Justin Olsen finished ninth, moving up from 11th after the first run, while teammate Codie Bascue had trouble in the first heat and finished 13th to round out the American effort.
Lamin Deen finished 7th in the second British sled, while Taylor Austin finished 11th for Canada.
