Dvorak Wins First IBSF Gold

From Park City, USA

(Nov. 21, 2018) – In the closest race of the season, Czech Republic pilot Dominik Dvorak took gold, edging out Great Britain’s Brad Hall and Lamin Deen in the process.

Dvorak came into the second run tied for the lead with Hall,  and just a tenth ahead of Deen. On that second run Deen was the quickest, putting the pressure both on Hall and Dvorak. Hall was able to keep ahead of his teammate by just .01. Dvorak’s time was just .03 faster than Hall, and just enough to win the gold medal.

Hall finished second, and Deen third for a solid showing by the British bobsled program. A day prior, Mica McNeill won the gold medal in women’s bobsled.

The gold medal for Dvorak was his first in an IBSF international competition. His previous best was a silver medal in La Plagne in December of 2014.

Americans Hunter Church and Geoff Gadbois finished fourth and fifth, while Swiss pilot finished sixth. Canadian Chris Spring finished eighth.

The race was the second of the day in Park City. Earlier in the day Rudy Rinaldi won the third race on the NAC calendar.
