Austin Sweeps Park City NAC Stop

From Park City, USA

Dec. 11, 2019 – In the third and final 4-man event of the day, Canada’s Taylor Austin once again won gold, this time by .22 over the United States’ Nick Cunningham. The win gave him the sweep of 4-man gold medals.

Austin’s squad had the fastest two pushes of the competition, and the quick run in both heats on their way to victory. Cunningham kept it close in the second heat, falling behind Austin by just .02 in the second heat, but Austin’s .2 advantage in the first heat was enough to keep the 2018 Olympian back.

Austin scored gold in all three 2-man races as well, giving him a full sweep of the Park City stop on the North American Cup tour.

Austin’s teammates Jeff McKeen, Patrick Norton, and Derek van den Brink finished third through fifth, respectively.

The North American Cup finishes its season in Lake Placid from January 6 to January 9.
