Sleper Wins First Monobob Race in Park City

Feb. 15, 2020 – Karlien Sleper won her first IBSF gold medal in Monobob, cruising to victory in Park City.

Sleper was the second quickest off the top in both heats, and had the two fastest times of the race on her way to a 1.18 second victory over Australia’s Ashleigh Werner.

The win was the first gold and fourth medal as a monobob pilot for Sleper.

Werner’s silver was her third in monobob, and second during the 2019/2020 season.

The United States’ Vanessa D’Arpino finished third in just her second monobob race.

Shelby Williamson finished fourth, just ahead of Marina Silva Tuono and Lake Kwaza rounded out the top six.
