FIBT World Cup – Round 8 – Men’s Skeleton – Heat 1

From Calgary, Canada

Russian Alexander Tretiakov put down a very impressive run that beat just about the whole field.  Unfortunately for Tretiakov, Martins Dukurs decided to show up, so Tretiakov finds himself second after heat 1, .11 behind Dukurs.  The Latvian holds the World Cup points lead, and will need to finish 16th or worse to even give Frank Rommel a chance.  Rommel currently sits third.

American Matt Antoine is fourth, only .07 out of a bronze medal, but has Tomass Dukurs, John Daly and Alexander Kroeckel within .15 of his fourth place spot.

All three Canadian sliders are into heat 2, with Neilson 12th, Fiarbairn 13th and Douglas 16th.
