Jan. 21, 2021 – Hunter Church cruised to victory in the North American Cup four-man bobsled opener, beating the competition by over a full second.
Church’s team gave him the two fastest starts of the competition, and he in turn put down the two fastest drives of the competition. He opened up a .6 advantage over Sam Moeller in the first heat, and finished his second run 1.08 ahead at the finish.
The battle for silver was close, with Moeller edging out teammate Tyler Hickey by just .01 for the spot. HIckey finished third, just ahead of Frank Del Duca in fourth.
Israel’s Dave Nicholls rounded out the five sled field in fifth.
