Feb. 19, 2021 – Germany’s Felix Seibel edged out Great Britain’s Jacob Salisbury to win his third straight Intercontinental Cup race.
Seibel had the fast time in both heats, but had Salisbury breathing down his neck on both runs. In the first heat Seibel edged out the British slider by just .02. On the second run Salisbury put down what would be the third quickest time of the heat. Seibel answered with the fastest second run to win by .13.
The gold for Seibel was his third straight and fourth medal in four races, while the silver for Salisbury was his first in international competition.
Great Britain put two sliders on the ICC podium, with Ben Fulker edging out Russia’s Vladsiavl Semenov for bronze. Semenov finished fourth, ahead of Germany’s Kilian von Schleinitz and Stefan Röttig, who rounded out the top six.
