Walker Wins 1st Gold of the Monobob Season

From Winterberg, GER

(December 3, 2021) – Australia’s Breeana Walker cruised to victory in women’s monobob action in Winterberg, beating out Lisa Buckwitz and Margot Boch for top honors.

Walker had the quick time in both heats on her way to a .45 second victory over Buckwitz. Buckwitz, who had one the most recent European Cup monobob stop, had the two quickest pushes of the race on her way to a silver medal.

France’s Margot Boch leapt up from fifth to win bronze, her best monobob finish since Lillehammer during the 2019/2020 season.

Germany’s Stephanie Schneider finished fourth, well ahead of Dutch slider Karlien Sleper in fifht. Sleper was in the bronze medal position after the first heat, but had trouble in the second heat to fall to fifth.

Korea’s Yooran Kim finished sixth in the 11 sled field.
