Kim had the strongest two starts of the competition, and was unmatched at any point along the track in Lake Placid on her way to a 1.16 second victory over Lee. Kim’s two downtimes were the two fastest of the race.

Lee edged out Sweden’s Leslie Stratton for silver by just .04. Stratton entered the second heat in fourth place after a few mistakes in her first run. She rallied back to jump into the bronze medal position, beating out Canada’s Natalie Coughlin for the spot.

Coughlin finished fourth, one spot ahead of teammate Grace Dafoe, who tied a career-best in Lake Placid in fifth. Korea’s Seokju Yang rounded out the top six.

The US Virgin Islands’ Katie Tannenbaum finished in seventh, while Malta’s Shannon Galea finished 9th.

Despite missing the previous two races in North American Cup action, Nicole Silveira clinched the NAC skeleton title on Tuesday. Canada’s Madi Charney is currently second, but likely will be passed by Jeonghyeok Lee as long as Lee competes in the final race of the season.
