Nicole Vogt Wins 1st Golf of the Season

(December 18, 2021) – Nicole Vogt won her first race of the 2021/2022 North American Cup two-woman bobsled season, edging out Australia’s Ashleigh Werner for gold.

Werner and brakewoman Tia-Clair Toomey set the quick start time in the first heat, and Werner drove the duo to within .06 of Vogt after the first heat. On the second run Werner and Toomey again had the quick start of the run, but Vogt once again drove she and brakewoman Jasmine Jones to the quick time of the heat and a gold medal.

Vogt’s margin of victory over Werner was .11.

Brittany Reinbolt and Nicole Brungardt finished third, just .07 out of silver.

Canada’s Bianca Ribi finished fourth, ahead of Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian in fifth. Alysia Rissling, winner of every monobob race in North America this season, finished sixth.

The United States’ Riley Compton and Mallory Bailey finished ninth.
