Team Canada Unveils Olympic Sled Liveries

(January 20, 2022) – The Canadian bobsled and skeleton team has revealed the liveries for their Beijing 2022 Olympic team’s sleds.

Per a release by Bobsleigh CANADA Skeleton, the sleds are designed after the World War II-era Admiralty Disruptive Paint, and honors the sacrifices Canadian sailors made during World War II and the Battle of the Atlantic. The schemes also celebrate those who continue to serve today.

Photos of the schemes, as well as of the ship they were inspired by (HMCS Moncton) are below.

Canada will send 21 bobsled and skeleton athletes to the Olympics. Christine de Bruin, Cynthia Appiah, Melissa Lotholz, Justin Kripps, Christopher Spring, and Taylor Austin as bobsled pilots, Kristen Bujnowski, Dawn Richardson Wilson, Sara Villani, Ben Coakwell, Ryan Sommer, Cam Stones, Mike Evelyn, Sam Giguere, Cody Sorensen, Jay Dearborn, Chris Patrician, and Daniel Sunderland will go as bobsled crew members.

Jane Channell, Mimi Rahneva, and Blake Enzie will slide for Canada on the skeleton side.

The bobsled and skeleton portion of the Olympic games begins on Wednesday, February 9 and will conclude on February 19 (eastern time).
