USA Bobsled & Skeleton Announces World Cup and ICC Teams

(October 12, 2022) – USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS) has announced their World Cup and Intercontinental Cup squads for the coming season.

On the skeleton side of things, five-time Olympian and 2012 World Champion Katie Uhlaender will anchor a five member World Cup squad. On the women’s skeleton side, Uhlaender will be joined by 2022 Olympian Kelly Curtis and by World Cup rookie Hallie Clarke. Clarke joins USABS by way of the Canadian skeleton program and finished second in Intercontinental Cup during the 2021/2022 season.

World Cup veterans Andrew Blaser and Austin Florian will represent the United States on the men’s skeleton World Cup tour.

USABS’s ICC team will be led by 2018 Olympian Kendall Wesenberg. She will be joined on the women’s side by 2021/2022 European Cup runner up Mystique Ro and ICC medalist Sara Roderick. Dan Barefoot and Hunter Williams will slide on the men’s tour.

The skeleton team was picked based off of the 2021/2022 IBSF season rankings.

Olympians Kaillie Humphries and Frank Del Duca will lead a five-sled World Cup squad. Humphries, a multi-time and multi-discipline Olympic gold medalist, will lead a three sled women’s squad, with Nicole Vogt and World Cup rookie Riley Compton piloting USA-2 and USA-3 respectively.

Del Duca and Geoff Gadbois will pilot USA-1 and USA-2 on the men’s side.

Elana Meyers Taylor is taking the season off while she and husband Nic Taylor expect their second child. Hunter Church is also taking the season off to rest and recover.

Eight men and five women have been chosen to push sleds in two-man, four-man, and two-woman bobsled. In alphabetical order, men selected to push are Hakeem Abdul Saboor, Adrian Adams, Martin Christofferson, Freddie Harris, Manteo Mitchell, Carsten Vissering, Quintin Wiley, and Josh Williamson. Aja Evans, Jasmine Jones, Jestena Mattson, Emily Renna, and Macy Tarlton will push on the women’s side.
