Doyle Wins Second Straight in Park City

From Park City, USA

(November 22, 2022) – Ireland’s Brendan Doyle won his second straight North American Cup skeleton race, once again winning by around a half of a second.

Doyle once again was the quickest in both heats, opening up a .09 lead over Canada’s David Park. On the second run Park and the field were once again unable to keep up with Doyle, with the Irish slider finishing the race .52 ahead of Park.

Doyle’s gold was his fifth podium finish in six races in Park City. For Park, his silver ties a career best finish and was his best finish in the United States.

Israel’s Jared Firestone, the previous day’s silver medalist, won bronze. His second run was enough to get him within .08 of Park.

Canada put three men in the top six, with Kyle Donsberger and Ryan Kuehn in fourth and fifth, respectively. Ghana’s Akwasi Frimpong rounded out the top six.

Bradley Nicol was the top finishing American in eighth place, while Canadian Jeremiah Huo finished tenth. Darryl Payne finished 13th for the United States.
