Jäger and Steudte Win Men’s Doubles JWC Opener

(December 1, 2022) – The team of Moritz Jäger and Valentin Steudte took gold to open the Junior World Cup men’s doubles season, cruising to victory in Lillehammer.

The Germans set the two quickest times of the competition on their way to a .181 second victory over Latvia’s Kaspars Rinks and Vitalijs Jegorovs.

The Latvians had the second quickest time of both heats, while the United States’ Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa set the third quickest time in both heats to finish third, just under a half of a second behind the Latvians.

Germany’s Pascal Kunze and Maddox Götze finished fourth, up from fifth in their first heat, with Ukraine’s Vadym Mykyievych and Bohdan Babura up from sixth to fifth. Americans Aiden Mueller and Frank Ike finished sixth.
