Bessard Wins Second Straight in Lake Placid

(December 3, 2022) – Agathe Bessard won her second straight IBSF North American Cup gold in Lake Placid, cruising to victory by .9 over the field.

Bessard opened up a .39 scond victory over Canada’s Natalie Coughlin in the first heat. On the second run she was another half of a second quicker to win gold, her second straight.

Coughlin finished second for the second time in a row, tying her career best. In both heats Coughlin threw down the fastest start of the heat.

Katie Tannenbaum rallied from fourth to win bronze, her second medal of the North American Cup season.

France’s Paige Alford finished fourth, ahead of Canada’s Tirza Lara and Columbia’s Laura Varags in fifth and sixth, respectively.

Malta’s Shannon Galea finished seventh.
