FIBT World Cup - Round 1 - Women's Skeleton

A little bit of shuffling through the order in Heat 2, with Sarah Reid moving to the front after Heat 2. The top 10 sliders move on to the slide-off tomorrow. The big run in Heat 2 came from Katie Uhlaender, who jumped a bunch of positions on the strength of a heat-fastest 55.88 (tying Reid) and moves into the Top 10. Uhlaender’s teammate, Kimber Gabryszak, also had a much quicker run in the second heat, but it wasn’t enough to move her into the Top 10, finishing in 13th.

On the other side, New Zealand’s Katharine Eustace had a disastrous run, moving from 6th to 16 and dropping out of the heat.

It was a great race for the Canadians in general, with Reid winning the two heat format going into tomorrow, with teammate Mellisa Hollingsworth only .02 behind. Cassie Hawrysh makes her World Cup debut with an 11th place finish, only .06 out of a top 10 run.
