Lanthaler Stays Perfect on the Season in Deutschnofen

(January 29, 2023) – Evelin Lanthaler cruised to victory yet again in the FIL Natural Track World Cup as she won by 1.9 seconds over Tina Unterberger.

Lanthaler opened up a 1.05 second advantage over teammate Greta Pinggera, with Unterberger hot on Pinggera’s tail in third after one run.

On the second run Unterberger put down a strong run to slide into the lead, and Pinggera wasn’t able to keep up as she fell back by .2.

Lanthaler’s second run wasn’t quite as quick as her first, but still quicker than anyone else as Lanthaler took gold by nearly two seconds.

Unterberger took silver, while Pinggera won bronze.

Italy’s Daniela Mittermair finished fourth, ahead of Germay’s Lisa Walch. Austria’s Michelle Diepold finished sixth.

The United States’ Katie Cookman finished 10th, one spot ahead of Canada’s Nadja Loder in 11th.
