2012/2013 FIBT World Cup - Round 1 - Women's Skeleton

The racing couldn’t be any closer for the first Women’s Skeleton race of the season. Countrywomen Sarah Reid and Mellisa Hollingsworth had run their first two races within .01 of each other. The third race of the top 10 would decide who took the title. In the end Reid once again topped Hollingsworth by .01, making the total differential .03 on the race. Marion Thees continued her consistent weekend by finishing in the bronze medal position.

American Katie Uhlaender finishes fifth after a disappointing first run, but two very solid second runs. Brit Shelley Rudman jumps one spot to 7th, while Lizzy Yarnold finishes 9th.
