Lambacher & Lambacher Win Kühtai Opener

From Kühtai, AUT

(December 16, 2023) – It’s not new to see an Italian team of Lambachers atop the FIL World Cup on Natural Track podium. However, the names are just a little different.

Out is Patrick Lambacher, and in is Peter Lambacher, but the results remained the same: Lambachers sliding well as they won the opening round of the Natural Track World Cup in Kúhtai.

Matthias and Peter Lambacher opened up a .16 second lead over Max Pichler and Nico Edlinger of Austria after the first heat, with everyone else well back behind them.

On the second run Pichler and Edlinger easily slid to the lead by over six seconds with just the Lambachers to go.

The Italian duo put down a nearly identical run to the first and took gold in their first race as a team.

Pichler and Edlinger took silver, while Slovakia’s Peter and Dominik Neupauer took bronze.

Czech sliders Tomas Hasek and David Rydl finished fourth, while Slovakians Gabriel Halcin and Marian Budzak crashed in their first heat but did finish to end their day in fifth.
